Betty, I'm sorry it took me so long to write this review, but we think of you often and appreciate your generous hospitality. Also, the next day we wound up going to meet the shrimp boats and then cleaning them under her canopy/roof you see in the picture. Betty jumped in our vehicle and off we went. We got there at the time of the Cattle Festival (yep) and Betty insisted we go to the parade and the fai-do-do which we discovered basically meant a party with dancing in the streets. There is a happy hour every night and when we were there Betty always provided some unique Louisianna treat. Don't expect a lot of amenities, but when you have Betty you don't need any. We heard about Betty's and went out of our way to find her park and stay there. Let me begin by saying I was just going to email Betty to see if she was affected by the floods and realized I never reviewed her park after our visit. Otherwise you're setting yourself up for Betty to Rip You Off! Also, Betty's is adjacent to an industrial plant that began operating noisy heavy equipment at 7:00 in the morning. We are full-timer RVers and Betty's approach is definitely not standard operating procedure! Unusual cancellation policies and non-refundable reservations are always specified in advance! If you choose to make a reservation to stay with Betty, be very careful. It wasn't as though our failure to be there the previous night had forced her to turn away another paying customer. And there were a grand total of three RVs staying at the park. When I made the reservation (via phone) she never mentioned anything about a cancellation policy or that all payments were non-refundable. Then she continued, "since you weren't here last night I won't make you pay the extra you owe me." How magnanimous of her! (If you don't sense the sarcasm you need to read his all again) I pre-paid the amount she specified and I let her know a week in advance that our plans had changed. But since the transaction was all handled on the phone with no paperwork documenting the rate or even the confirmation of our stay, I had nothing to show her demonstrating my case. I had sent her a check for the exact amount that she had requested. "As a matter of fact, the check that you sent was for less than you owed me." I was shocked. "It's not my fault that you weren't here", was her reply. Then I asked about a refund for the previous night that we had already paid for but didn't stay. When we showed up I went into Betty's office and filled out the standard paperwork. I called Betty and told her we'd be in a day later making our stay for only one night. The week before we arrived our plans were altered by some very nasty weather across the deep South (Anyone who RVs regularly knows that the weather can make a big difference in your travel plans). How much do we owe you? "$38.96 for the two nights. She called back a few days later and said that it would only be possible for two nights because she had to leave town on June 1st so everyone had to be gone by May 31st. We were going to stay three nights because she was shutting the place down on June 1st for some personal travel. I made a reservation with Betty for the end of May back in February.
